This year, we have decided not to take students to China for Daoist studies and meditation training. (We are planning on offering two trips to China for 2020.) This year, instead, we will be hosting a 10 day meditation retreat at our new facility.
This 10-day meditation retreat will be held at our new training facility, located outside of Nashville, TN. The property consists of 369 beautiful and secluded acres that allow for direct contact with all the elemental forces.
This retreat is open to disciples of the Temple of Peace and Virtue and students (current or previous) of the ICMQ and IMCQ. Extended students (students of our students) are also invited. Other participants may be allowed with permission.
Daily practice 9am-12pm, 2-5pm, and 7-8pm.

Our normal trainings range from 4 – 5 days. Most participants will attest it takes 2 – 3 days to relax into the space and receive openly. This is in part because of travel, but mostly due to the pace and level of overwhelm of our lives.

Retreat practice provides the opportunity for you to restore your energies, have time to rest and to let go of the day-to-day mundane responsibilities and focus on your own inner development and spiritual growth. You can nurture yourself, restore a sense of balance and well-being, and open up to nature.
The goal of this meditation retreat is for one to find silence. As our minds begin to still, the veil of illusion begins to lift and reveal a greater horizon. For, it is only in silence that truth can be found.
Outward silence shines a light on the parts of your inner life you don’t usually experience, teaching you to acknowledge and process even your most uncomfortable thoughts and feelings.
This practice of observing your inner landscape can teach greater stress tolerance and emotional balance that lasts long after the retreat is over.
True silence is a deeply personal experience that’s different for everybody; the truth is, there’s no way to know exactly what will happen once you’re alone with yourself.
To study the Way is to study the self.
To study the self is to forget the self.
To forget the self is to perceive one-self in all beings, to be enlightened by all things.
To be enlightened by all things is to remove the barriers between oneself and others.
